The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Dutchess residents regarding the residency of 47-year-old Robert Storts, who has moved from the Dutchess County Jail to a residence on Cannon Street in Poughkeepsie.
The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Storts as a Level 2 threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Storts had sexual intercourse with his 15-year-old victim in March 1997 and he was convicted of third-degree rape in September that year. Storts was sentenced to a term of five years probation and is now under the jurisdiction of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office.
